Gamecocks Announce Staff Changes in Fundraising
University of South Carolina Athletics is excited to announce a number of changes within its fundraising staff. Jesse Kasser has been promoted to the position of Director of Development and will continue to provide leadership to the major gift team. This team will be bolstered by the addition of University alumnus, Chas Cheeseboro, who has been hired as Assistant Director of Development. Additionally, Jerry Meyers will be elevated to the position of Director of Alumni Engagement and Development.
Kasser has over five years of development experience and has been on the Gamecock Athletics Development staff since joining the Gamecock Athletics Department as an Assistant Director in 2016. “Jesse has been a tremendous asset to our major gift team and an important part of our department,” said Steve Eigenbrot, Senior Associate AD/Development and Gamecock Club. “His production as a fundraiser speaks for itself, but he’s also a strong teammate who positively impacts our office culture.”
Before his arrival at South Carolina, Kasser worked for the Crusader Athletics Fund at the College of Holy Cross. He has a bachelor’s degree from Hofstra University, as well as a master’s degree in Sport Administration from the University of Miami. He is currently a PhD candidate in Sport and Entertainment Management at the University of South Carolina.
Chas Cheeseboro joins the major gift team after five years working in the department with the IMG ticket sales operation, working hand in hand with Gamecock Club donors to maximize their experience in the annual fund.
While working with IMG Cheeseboro has generated over $1.4M in revenue through new ticket sales and Gamecock Club renewals. Prior to working with IMG Cheeseboro worked for the Brooklyn Nets and the Miami Dolphins. “Chaz has an extensive track record of exceeding his goals while building deep and lasting relationships with our members. His passion for the University of South Carolina is evident every day that he comes to the office.” said Wayne Hiott, Assistant Athletics Director for Development “I couldn’t be more excited to have him join our team.”
Having joined the development team in 2018, Meyers will continue his focus on building relationships with both current and former Gamecock student-athletes, as well as contributing to the fundraising team. “Jerry will play an important role on our team,” noted Eigenbrot. “We will continue to lean on his experience working with student-athletes and his connections in the community to improve the experience for the Gamecocks of today and tomorrow.”
