Lambling and Rodrigues Advance to Consolation Semifinals
TULSA, Okla.—South Carolina men’s tennis’ 27th-ranked doubles team of Raphael Lambling and Daniel Rodrigues lived to play another day as it knocked off the North Carolina duo of Mac Kiger and Simon Soendergaard in the doubles consolation draw of the ITA All-American Championships Friday night.
The sophomore duo once again battled back from a first-set loss to claim the second and third to stay alive in the tournament. After Lambling and Rodrigues battled back from a 6-2 defeat in the opening set of the quarterfinal round, the duo found its footing in the second, standing toe-to-toe with Kiger and Soendergaard deep into the second set. The Gamecocks powered to a tiebreak win to set up the super tiebreak third set to decide the match. Another back-and-forth battle went South Carolina’s way 10-7.
Lambling and Rodrigues will play the winner of the Alabama vs. Florida match in Saturday’s consolation semifinals.

While Lambling and Rodrigues will play in the consolation semifinals Saturday, their teammates Thomas Brown, Beau Pelletier and Phillip Jordan will begin play in the Georgia Tech Fall Inviataional.
