Three Gamecocks Head to Georgia Tech Fall Invite

COLUMBIA, S.C.— Three members of the South Carolina men’s tennis team will head to Atlanta this weekend to play in the Georgia Tech Fall Invitational. The Gamecocks will play in the weekend-long tournament for the fifth-straight year. Junior Thomas Brown, sophomore Beau Pelletier and redshirt-freshman Phillip Jordan will represent the Garnet and Black in the event.

“This is a great opportunity for these three guys,” South Carolina head coach Josh Goffi said. “Last week at All-Americans, they got a glimpse of what they are capable of but also what’s holding them back from becoming the player they know they can be. It’s time for them to get back in there and move things forward.”

The tournament features nine teams playing in three singles draws and three doubles draws, including SEC foes Auburn, Georgia, Mississippi State, Tennessee and Vanderbilt. The draw selections will be announced late Friday night.

Play will begin at 8 a.m. Saturday, starting with two rounds of doubles and one round of singles.
