Pelletier and Brown Advance to Doubles Finals

 
COLUMBIA, SC.— Five members of the South Carolina men’s tennis team competed over a pair of tournaments Saturday. While the nation’s 27th-ranked doubles team of Daniell Rodrigues and Raphael Lambling wrapped up the Gamecocks’ competition in the ITA All-American Championships, three other Gamecocks opened play in the Georgia Tech Invitational.
 
 
Georgia Tech Invitational
Sophomore Beau Pelletier and junior Thomas Brown teamed to win both of their matches Saturday to advance to the final of the doubles White Draw. They will face the Clemson duo of Jacob Jahn and Teodor Giusca for the title.
 
In singles, Pelletier continued his winning ways, knocking off Miami’s Dane Dunlap in straight sets, 6-3, 6-4. The South Carolina native picked up his fourth singles victory of the fall and will face Georgia Tech’s Pablo Schelcher on Sunday.
 
 
ITA All-American Championship
South Carolina’s run at the ITA All-American Championships came to a close Saturday after the No. 27 ranked duo of Raphael Lambling and Daniel Rodirgues lost in the consolation semifinals to the Florida pair of Sam Riffice and Oliver Crawford, ranked 47th in the country to open the season. The match marked the Gamecock duo’s third straight that went to a third-set super tiebreak.

UP NEXT FOR THE GAMECOCKS
Pelletier and Brown will play for the White doubles title Sunday at 8 a.m. the singles matches will take place later in the day.
