Gamecock Volleyball to Hold Free Scrimmage Saturday Afternoon
South Carolina holds its annual Garnet & Black Scrimmage at 2 p.m.
COLUMBIA, S.C. – The South Carolina Volleyball team holds its annual Garnet & Black intra-squad scrimmage in the Carolina Volleyball Center (1051 Blossom St.) on Saturday, Aug. 17 at 2 p.m. The event is free to attend, giving fans their first chance to see the 2019 Gamecocks in action before the regular season starts Aug. 30.
The Gamecocks snapped a postseason drought with a 20-win season and a berth in the 2018 NCAA tournament last fall. With all six starters from the tournament run returning and five freshmen adding depth to the roster, anticipation is peaking as the team wraps up week one of preseason training. A challenging schedule awaits the team this season, with five of the team’s 12 non-conference matches coming against returning NCAA tournament participants, and four more NCAA tournament participants await Carolina in SEC play.
Season tickets are still available ahead of the Sept. 10 home opener, priced at $25 for adults and $10 for youth 17 and under. Fans can also purchase a VIP season ticket, new for this year (INFO: https://bit.ly/2HotLHx).
