What's New for Fans at Williams-Brice Stadium

by Brad Muller, Director of Content

Gamecock fans make Williams-Brice Stadium one of the best atmospheres in the country, before, during and after the game, and 247Sports recently ranked South Carolina as the No. 2 tailgate spot for college football in the country.

South Carolina Athletics is always looking for ways to improve the fan experience at Gamecock Football games. Here are a few new and perhaps some new-to-you features to be on the lookout for on your next trip to Williams-Brice Stadium.

The GO Pass Offers Unlimited Access to Get Into Games

  • The new GO Pass is an all-sport subscription-based plan similar to popular online streaming services that allows fans to attend an unlimited number of home games across all sports for only $25 per month with a 12-month commitment.
  • The mobile-only pass also has a “sit with your friends” feature and will assign seats prior to the game with those seat locations changing each game.
  • Check it out now at ItsGreatToBeAGamecock.com/GO.

Water, water everywhere!

We know it’s hot, especially early in the season, and South Carolina Athletics wants fans to stay safe, hydrated, and cool by expanding its heat management plan so there are more opportunities for them to have access to water through various hydration stations.

  • Water Bottles. Fans are now permitted to bring one (1) empty, clear bottle of water OR one (1) sealed bottle of water into the stadium. This policy update will allow fans to stay hydrated on their walk to Williams-Brice Stadium and refill their bottle upon entering the stadium. All glass bottles are still strictly prohibited in Williams-Brice Stadium.
  • Water Refills. South Carolina once again offers bottle filling stations at locations throughout the stadium. These bottle filling stations are located near existing water fountains.
  • Student Discount. South Carolina students can also purchase water for $1 after the third quarter behind the student section.
  • Free Water. This year, fans can also take advantage of “WaterMonsters,” which are large coolers that will be filled with water during home games when temperatures are extremely hot. The number of WaterMonsters throughout the stadium has doubled from last year to 14 this year. Each WaterMonster has six nozzles to efficiently supply fans with water. These will be highly visible with their prominent blue ‘Water’ flags.
  • Stay Cool. Cooling zones will also be available throughout the stadium as part of the heat management plan. These cooling zones will feature large fans as well as misting fans to give patrons a break from the heat.

Before you come in, check this out!

  • The Cockaboose Bar and Grill returns to Gamecock Park off Bluff Road for the second straight year. The beer and wine cash bar offers fans the convenience of not having to carry their beverage of choice to watch the Gamecock Walk as the team enters the stadium coming up through Gamecock Park, while also catching up with what else is happening in college football on one of the bar’s flat screen televisions.

  • New Geography! If it’s been a while since your last visit to Williams-Brice Stadium, you may hear friends telling you to meet them at new locations around the stadium.
The Rice Football Campus is the large grassy area in front of the Jerri and Steve Spurrier Indoor Practice Facility and also encapsulates The Long Family Football Operations Center. Located off Bluff Road behind Gamecock Park, the Long Family Football Operations Center is a one-stop shop for South Carolina football with weight room, athletic training room, dining hall, coaches’ offices, locker rooms and more.
The Springs Brooks Plaza is the beautiful fan-friendly walking area around the stadium.  Newly named locations include the Karen and Russ Lloyd Family Courtyard, which is where the George Rogers statue is located near the corner of George Rogers Blvd. and Bluff Road, as well as the Wurzburger Family Gate, which is the student entrance in the northeast corner.
The Touchdown Club is located in the Floyd Building in the north endzone and is open to Gamecock Club members who have purchased passes.

Get in Faster!

  • Keep an eye out for the Mobile Ticket Express Lane signs throughout high traffic areas as you enter the stadium. Download the South Carolina Gamecocks app and pull up your mobile ticket on your phone. Look for signs for one of the nine Mobile Ticket Express Lane entrances that will alleviate some congestion around entrances and help clean up pedestrian traffic around the Springs Brooks Plaza. Note: Anyone carrying bags into the stadium will not be permitted to use the Mobile Ticket Express Lanes.

Get Food Faster!112714

  • Grab & Go. Get through concession lines quickly with the new Grab & Go self-service stands. Eight Grab & Go stations will get you back to your seats faster at the following locations: West Main (3 stands), Lower South End Zone (2 stands), Upper South End Zone (1 stand), West Club Level (1 stand), Upper East (1 stand).
  • Order in advance in certain areas. Download the FanFood app or access it through Gamecocks Game Day App and purchase your concessions remotely through your mobile device. Currently a pilot program, fans can pick up orders from the app at these select locations: 1 on West Main and 2 on the East Side, accessed by the East Cub level ramps.
  • More food! Also be on the lookout for new offerings inside the stadium including Ben & Jerry’s ice cream, Firehouse Subs and Jersey Mike’s Subs, along with an expanded presence of Chick-Fil-A.

Getting to the Game!

  • A shout out to the many members of law enforcement who provide support to allow our fans to have a great game day experience and a safe trip to and from Williams-Brice Stadium.
  • Gamecock Football has one of the best game day parking situations in all of college football.  Did you know that there are an estimated 10,000 public and private parking spots adjacent to or approximate to Williams-Brice Stadium? In addition, parking shuttles operate on game day from Russell House Student Union and Colonial Life Arena – Lot B.
