Carolina Remains in Seventh at All-American Intercollegiate
Proveaux and Hall shoot under par to lead Gamecocks in second round of spring opener
HUMBLE, Texas – South Carolina remains in seventh at the All-American Intercollegiate after posting a 2-over 290 in the second round on Monday. Senior Caleb Proveaux and sophomore Ryan Hall each posted red numbers to lead the Gamecocks.
Proveaux shot 70 (-2) in a bounce back effort with just one blemish on his scorecard, a bogey at the par-5 fourth hole. He had three birdies and 14 pars as he climbed nearly 30 spots on the leaderboard.
Hall moved up the leaderboard as well and sits just inside the top-20, T-19th at even par after he shot 71 (-1) today. He led Carolina with five birdies. The Knoxville, Tenn., native, made a nine at the par-5 fourth hole after hitting into multiple hazards, but he still managed to get into the clubhouse under par with steady play the rest of the way. Hall was bogey free with four birdies over his final 14 holes.
Senior Jamie Wilson shot 73 (+1). He made the turn at 1-under (35) after an eagle at the par-5 eighth hole. He was 2-over on the back nine with three bogeys and a birdie. Junior Andrew Spiegler was the final counting score with a 76 (+4).
The Gamecocks will be paired with Houston and Louisiana Tech for the final round on Tuesday. Spiegler will lead things off on hole one at approximately 10:30 a.m. ET with Carolina nine shots back of the top-three. Follow along live via Golfstat by clicking here.
