Carolina Finishes Seventh at All-American Intercollegiate
Hall paces Gamecocks with third top-20 finish of the season
HUMBLE, Texas – South Carolina finished seventh at the 2020 All-American Intercollegiate on Tuesday, its first tournament of the spring. The Gamecocks shot 286 (-2), their best score of the three-day event.
Sophomore Ryan Hall fired his second straight 71 (-1) as he finished T-19th with a 54-hole total of 215 (-1). He opened with a bogey at the par-4 first hole today, but shot 2-under over his final 17 holes with a pair of birdies and 15 pars. The Knoxville, Tenn., native had just two numbers with a score of bogey or worse over his final 36 holes of play.
Senior Jamie Wilson also shot 71 (-1) to conclude the event. He was bogey free with two birdies until his final hole when he made a five at the par-4 18th hole. He finished T-30th at 2-over (218).
Senior Caleb Proveaux, sophomore Harry Corbin and junior Andrew Spiegler each carded even par 72s. Proveaux was 2-under through 17 holes but was hurt by a double bogey on hole 18. Corbin also was steady with two birdies and 15 pars. The Inman, S.C., native, was also plagued however by one crooked number on his scorecard, a double bogey at the par-4 11th hole. Poveaux and Corbin each T-36th at 4-over par. Spiegler T-45th at 6-over for the tournament.
Freshman Nick Mayfield played as an individual this week and T-68th at 12-over. He finished with a 78 (+6) today.
NOTABLE
> Hall notched his third top-20 of the season (T-2nd on the team) and the seventh of his young career this week.
> Wilson leads the team with 12 rounds of par or better this season after his red number in the final round today.
> Corbin and Spiegler each made their season debuts in the lineup this week at the All-American Intercollegiate.
> The Gamecocks led the field with 189 pars at Golf Club of Houston over the past three days. Corbin tied for the field lead with 41 pars.

Carolina will have a brief break in the schedule before teeing it up again at the General Hackler Championship, March 9-10, at Dunes Golf & Beach Club in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
