Harris Named to Midseason Wade Watch List
In her third season as a team captain, Harris has guided the youngest team of her career to a No. 1 national ranking and the top of the SEC standings, playing more nationally ranked opponents than any other AP Top 25 team. With a career-high scoring average (12.1 ppg), she continues to rank among the nation’s best passers, standing 19th in the country with an SEC-best 5.4 assists per game. As sure-handed as ever, Harris’ 2.8 assist-to-turnover ratio ranks ninth in the nation and includes a current stretch of 81 minutes on the court with 21 assists and no turnovers. Between her scoring and points off her assists, Harris has her hands on nearly 30 percent of the Gamecocks’ high-powered offense, a number that rises to 35.1 percent in 10 games against ranked opponents.
The WBCA will announce the four finalists for the Wade Trophy in mid-March. The winner of the 2020 Wade Trophy will be announced April 2 in New Orleans – site of the 2020 WBCA Convention and NCAA Women’s Final Four.
No. 1/1 South Carolina is back in action Thu., Feb. 20, when the Gamecocks host LSU to close out a four-game homestand with tipoff at 7 p.m.
