Gamecocks Take Third at IJGA Collegiate Invitational

Team Leaderboard | Player Leaderboard

Guadalajara, Mexico – The No. 5 South Carolina women’s golf team notched its third top-three finish of the season by taking third at the IJGA Collegiate Invitational. Freshman Pauline Roussin-Bouchard also earned her third top-three finish this season.

“Overall a really good performance for our first event of the spring,” head coach Kalen Anderson said. “A tough finishing round for our seniors today which was too bad, they’re usually pretty clutch. But our freshmen did a great job, Mathilde and Pauline came through for us in the final round. Overall everybody contributed really well this week, third place isn’t a bad finish and we played well. We beat some highly ranked teams and this is a solid start. We’ve got some things to work on moving forward but we got solid play out of everybody this week.”

Roussin-Bouchard wrapped up the tournament with a 5-under 67, her second lowest round of the season, to secure a third-place finish with a 7-under 209 for the tournament. She finished with 14 birdies, tied for third in the tournament.

Senior Lois Kaye Go finished in a tie for 23rd place with her 3-over 219. Go’s second round 67 is her lowest round since she shot a 66 in the opening round of the 2018 Florida State Match-Up.

Freshman Mathilde Claisse finished the tournament with a 1-under 71 after notching six birdies in the final round to give her 12 over all three rounds, tied for 10th. Claisse finished the tournament tied for 34th with a 6-over 222.

Joining Claisse in a tie for 34th place is senior Anita Uwadia, who finished the tournament with 11 birdies, tied for 12th.

Senior Ana Pelaez finished in a tie for 39th place with a 7-over 223. She tallied eight birdies through the tournament.
