2020 SEC Men's Basketball Tournament Bracket Set

COLUMBIA, S.C. – The 2020 SEC Men’s Basketball Tournament bracket has been finalized, and the Gamecocks (18-13, 10-8 SEC) are the sixth seed, and will play the winner of the 11th-seed Arkansas and 14th-seed Vanderbilt contest on Thursday at approximately 9:30 p.m. ET.  With a win on Thursday, Carolina would advance to Friday’s Quarterfinals to face third-seeded LSU.

The Gamecocks concluded the SEC campaign with a 10-8 record, which placed them in a tie for sixth-place in the final conference standings with Texas A&M.  With Carolina posting a 2-0 record vs. the Aggies in league play, the Gamecocks held the tiebreaker over A&M and secured the sixth-seed in next week’s tournament.

Kentucky was the SEC Champion and is the No. 1 seed in Nashville, followed by Auburn (2), LSU (3), Mississippi State (4), Florida (5), Carolina (6), A&M (7), Tennessee (8), Alabama (9), Missouri (10), Arkansas (11), Ole Miss (12), Georgia (13) and Vanderbilt (14).

During the regular season Carolina claimed a 79-77 road win over the Razorbacks in the lone meeting between the two schools in league play.  Against Vanderbilt, the Gamecocks posted a 90-64 win at Colonial Life Arena, before suffering an 83-74 loss in the road matchup vs. the Commodores in the regular season finale on Saturday.
