Go and Pelaez Returning for Final Season
Columbia, S.C. – South Carolina seniors Lois Kaye Go and Ana Pelaez are returning for a final season after their senior campaigns were shortened due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Through her three seasons in Columbia Go has amassed one of the best careers in Gamecock golf history. She’s one of three Gamecocks to earn All-America honors in three consecutive seasons, and she’s won the SEC Scholar Athlete of the Year award twice, in 2019 and 2020, the only two-time winner in program history. Go also holds the best scoring average in program history (72.65), and she’s a two-time CoSIDA Academic All-America First Team honoree.
Pelaez added to one of the best careers in program history with a stellar senior season, earning All-America honors for the second time in her career. She currently holds the fourth best scoring average in team history (73.80), to go along with multiple All-SEC honors she’s tallied during her career.
The Gamecocks enter the 2020-21 season with one of the most talented lineups in the nation behind Go, Pelaez, Pauline Roussin-Bouchard and incoming transfer Pimnipa Panthong. All four women earned All-America honors last season, with Go, Panthong and Pelaez earning All-America distinction in multiple years. Roussin-Bouchard earned two First Team All-America honors as a freshman last season.
