Patten on Team of the Week For Second Straight Week

COLUMBIA, S.C. – South Carolina women’s soccer senior defender Anna Patten was named to TopDrawerSoccer.com’s Team of the Week for her performance against Vanderbilt, the publication announced Tuesday.

The English center back played all 103 minutes in the 2-1 double overtime win on the road. She scored the game-winning goal on a penalty kick in double overtime after Ryan Gareis drew a hand ball just inside the box. Patten has played all 373 minutes for the Gamecocks this season, the only Gamecock to do so. Gareis was also mentioned as an honorable mention by the publication.

South Carolina (3-1-0, 3-1-0 SEC) will play No. 3 Arkansas in Fayetteville, Ark., on Oct. 16. The match can be seen on SEC Network + or the ESPN App at 8 p.m.
