Smith Knaffle Wins WSCGA Team Championship
DANIEL ISLAND, S.C. – University of South Carolina women’s golf sophomore Smith Knaffle claimed the top honors at the Women’s South Carolina Golf Association Team Championship on Tuesday on the Ralston Course at the Daniel Island Golf Club.
The 36-hole tournament called for a best ball format for the opening round, and a modified alternate shot format in the second round.
Knaffle’s team took care of business and finished with a 9-under 135 for the tournament. The duo fired a first round 6-under 66 on Monday and closed out the victory with a 3-under 69 on Tuesday. The duo finished 12 strokes ahead of their nearest competition
The Gamecocks finished the fall in the No. 1 spot in the Golfweek rankings, and at No. 2 in the Golfstat rankings. Information about the spring schedule will be made available in the near future.
