Pauline Roussin-Bouchard Named SEC Golfer of the Week
BRIMINGHAM, Ala. – South Carolina sophomore Pauline Roussin-Bouchard’s tournament winning performance at the Moon Golf Invitational has earned her Southeastern Conference Golfer of the Week honors, SEC officials announced Wednesday.
Roussin-Bouchard finished the Moon Golf Invitational with a 13-under 203, the second lowest 54-hole tournament performance in program history, only behind her 14-under 202 at The Ally back in October. Her 9-under 63 in the opening round on Sunday is the lowest 18-hole score for any Gamecock golfer in team history, and with her tournament win she becomes just the second Gamecock to win three or more tournaments, only trailing Kristy McPherson’s six wins.
“I’m very proud of Pauline and of her strong performance this week,” head coach Kalen Anderson said of Roussin-Bouchard. “She is a highly motivated and extremely hard-working individual. She continues to push her own standards and those of people around her.”
The No. 2 Gamecocks are back in action on March 1 when they tee off their home tournament, the 2021 Gamecock Intercollegiate. More information about the tournament will be made available in the coming weeks.
