ABOUT THIS GAME
- South Carolina will recognize the seniors associated with the team prior to today’s game. In addition to senior guard LeLe Grissett, the Gamecocks will honor senior manager Alexis Boston and senior practice players Andrew Bryson, Wyatt Ross and Tommy Webb.
- The South Carolina-Kentucky series is tied 34-34 after the Gamecocks have won 12 of the last 13 meetings. The Wildcats’ last win in the series was a 65-57 decision on Feb. 21, 2019, in Colonial Life Arena.
- In honor of Black History Month, the Gamecocks will honor Columbia Mayor Steve Benjamin in the first half. In previous games, they have recognized Edith Cook, the first Black player in program history, and South Carolina Exec. Assoc. AD/SWA/Chief Diversity Officer Maria Hickman.

- South Carolina has been locked into the No. 3 spot in the NET for most of the season thanks to a non-conference strength of schedule ranked sixth in the country and the depth in the SEC. The Gamecocks’ four wins against Net 1-25 teams are second-most in the country and their 10 wins vs. Net 1-50 teams leads the nation
- Defensively, the Gamecocks have allowed just five opponents to score more than 65 points this season and just six others have reached 60 points.
- South Carolina’s guards have scored 53.6 percent of the team’s 45.0 points in the paint per game this season (24.1 ppg).
- The Gamecocks lead the nation with 7.3 blocked shots per game, including 7.8 per SEC game. Aliyah Boston leads the way with an SEC-best 3.1 per game to rank 11th in the nation, and Victaria Saxton’s 1.7 are fifth in the league. All but one Gamecock has blocked at least one shot this season with the South Carolina guards accounting for a combined 1.4 blocks per game.
- South Carolina has not been out-rebounded this season and is third in the country with an SEC-best +16.1 rebounding margin. In nine games against ranked opponents, the Gamecocks have won the rebounding battle by double digits six times, including a +15 advantage at Kentucky (Jan. 10).
- Unanimous AP Preseason All-America Aliyah Boston needs just one more double-double to move into the program’s career top 10. Of her 24 career double-doubles (in 53 career games), 15 have come in just 28 career SEC games, which ranks her third in program history. Her eight SEC double-doubles this season trail only A’ja Wilson (9) and Alaina Coates (10) in the Gamecock record book.
- In the last three games, point guard Destanni Henderson has poured in 15.0 points per game on 56.3 percent shooting, including 50.0 percent from 3-point range, and added 2.3 steals per game in the stretch. The effort has lifted her 3-point percentage to a team-best 41.1 on the season while shooting 44.8 percent overall.
- Sophomore Zia Cooke has scored 16.2 points per game over the last five SEC outings and has a team-high 17 games scoring in double figures. She has had the team’s best scoring average (15.7 ppg, 12th in the SEC) for most of the season and has a team-best nine games as the top scorer, including five SEC contests.
