Roussin-Bouchard Named Co-SEC Golfer of the Week
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – South Carolina women’s golf sophomore Pauline Roussin-Bouchard picked up another honor, being named the co-SEC Golfer of the Week, SEC officials announced on Wednesday.
Roussin-Bouchard is coming off back-to-back strong tournaments, starting with her record-breaking win at the Valspar Augusta Invitational. The sophomore posted a 15-under (201), the lowest 54-hole tournament score in South Carolina women’s golf history, to get her third win of the season and fourth of her career, moving her into second on the all-time program wins list. Roussin-Bouchard’s performance helped the Gamecocks win their third tournament of the season and set the record for lowest 54-hole tournament score with a 30-under (834) for the weekend.
The sophomore followed that up by tying for third at the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic, battling back from sluggish performances in the first two rounds to shoot a 2-under 70 in the final round to secure the team’s fourth tournament win of the season, a new program record.
The Gamecocks are done for the regular season, but Roussin-Bouchard will compete at the Augusta National Women’s Amateur set to begin on March 31 along with seniors Ana Pelaez & Pimnipa Panthong, and freshman Paula Kirner.
