Equestrian Opens SEC Championship against Auburn on Friday
COLUMBIA, S.C. – The No. 8 University of South Carolina equestrian team shifts into postseason mode when it faces No. 1 Auburn in the SEC Championship semifinal on Friday. The meet is set for a 2:30 p.m. start at the University of Georgia Equestrian Complex in Bishop, Ga.
SEC Championship Info
The SEC Championship begins on Friday, March 26 with a pair of semifinal matchups. The winner of the South Carolina vs. Auburn meet faces the winner of the Georgia vs. Texas A&M meet for the SEC Championship on Saturday, while the losing teams from both meets clash in the consolation matchup Saturday morning. What You Need to Know
- The Gamecocks (1-5, 1-5 SEC) wrapped up the regular season against Auburn on March 13, falling to the top-ranked Tigers.
- Junior Sloane Vogt earned her second SEC honor of the season, snagging the co-SEC Reining Rider of the Month award for March after her M.O.P. winning ride at Auburn. Vogt finished the regular season with a 5-1-0 record in reining.
- Sophomore Madeline Schaefer also took home M.O.P. honors against Auburn after her 88-point over fences ride, capping off a 4-1-1 regular season.
- Junior Trinity Hammerschmidt extended her flat winning streak to five with her 80-64 win at Auburn.

No. 1 Auburn (6-0, 6-0 SEC) enters Friday’s meet riding a 40-meet winning streak after downing the Gamecocks in the regular season finale.
