Darling Named to ANNIKA Award Final Fall Watch List

True freshman has a pair of top-10 finishes in three starts this fall

COLUMBUS, Ga. — Freshman Hannah Darling was named to the ANNIKA Award final fall watch list on Monday. The first-year standout has two top-10s in her first three career starts for the eighth-ranked Gamecocks this season.

She leads the team with a 73.00 scoring and is the only player on the squad with multiple rounds in the 60s. Darling, a native of Midlothian, Scotland, led the team to a seven-shot victory in the first event of the season in a loaded field at the ANNIKA Intercollegiate (Sept. 13-15). She was runner-up medalist with a score of 205 (-11) in her first collegiate event.

Darling is ranked 10th in the latest World Amateur Golf Rankings on the women’s side as of Oct. 20.

South Carolina, fresh off a second-place finish at the inaugural Jackson T. Stephens Cup (Oct. 18-20), concludes the fall portion of the schedule this weekend at the Landfall Tradition in Wilmington, N.C. First round action gets underway Friday morning.
