Smith Announces 2021 Camp Dates

South Carolina women’s soccer head coach Shelley Smith announced details for the 2021 Shelley Smith Soccer School camp dates this summer. Smith will host three types of camps starting as early as June 12. All camps are open to any and all entrants (limited only by number, age, grade level and gender).

Registration for camps has not officially begun. To reserve a spot you can email Assistant Coach Marnie Merritt at marniem@mailbox.sc.edu.

Recruit ID Camps (June 12-13, June 19-20 and August 6-7):
These camps are aimed at the ‘serious soccer player’ looking to get Division I exposure and experience collegiate level training sessions. South Carolina coaches and players will lead these small camps. The ID and Skills camps are great ways for all to evaluate and elevate the skill level of all participants. There will be Goalkeeper-specific training sessions running at the same time as the field player sessions.

Elite Mini Camp (July 15-18):
This camp option is aimed to provide youth soccer players an opportunity to take their game to the next level while experiencing the University of South Carolina. The coaching staff and players train campers on technical and tactical aspects of their game while creating a fun environment. This camp provides an opportunity for both individuals and teams to improve their skills and understanding. There will be Goalkeeper-specific training sessions running at the same time as the field player sessions.
NOTE: This is a non-residential camp.

Day Camp (June 14-18, July 19-23):
Carolina Soccer School groups players by age and skill level so that each child is challenged, but not overwhelmed. The goal of this camp is to provide a positive learning environment through technical work and more game/match play for all participants, beginners to advanced. Campers are responsible for bringing their own snack/lunch to camp. In addition to the half-day allotment of soccer and fun, Full Day campers will benefit from competitive match play in the afternoon.

Please note that should the NCAA/SEC dead period for camps/clinics be extended, these camps will be canceled and rescheduled pending a permissible date. More information about the Shelley Smith South Carolina Soccer School can be found at carolinasoccerschool.com
