Trio of Gamecocks at Rich Harvest Farms for Palmer Cup

SUGAR GROVE, Ill. — Three South Carolina golf All-Americans are set to compete in the 2021 Arnold Palmer Cup (June 11-13) beginning Friday at Rich Harvest Farms. Ryan Hall, Ana Pelaez and Pauline Roussin-Bouchard will all be competing representing their home countries in the Ryder Cup style event.
 
Hall, a native of Knoxville, Tenn., will be playing for the United States team. Pelaez (Malaga, Spain) and Roussin-Bouchard (Carqueiranne, France) will be playing for the International side. Roussin-Bouchard is making her second consecutive appearance for the Internationals as she was on the winning side this past December at Bay Hill. Hall and Pelaez are making their Palmer Cup debuts.
 
Golfstat will have live scoring for the event which will take place under the following format:
 
• Friday, June 11 – Fourball Matches
• Saturday, June 12 – Foursome Matches
• Saturday, June 12 – Mixed Foursome Matches
• Sunday, June 13 – Singles Matches
 
The International side has won the last two Palmer Cups, including a dominant 40.5-19.5 victory most recently. The U.S. leads the all-time series 12-11-1.
 
Athletes from 33 different schools will participate in this year’s event. Wake Forest (4) has the most players in the field and South Carolina (3) is T-2^nd most with Oklahoma State (3) and Texas (3).
 
Hall, the 2021 Albuquerque Regional Champion, wrapped up one of the best single-season performances for the men in Garnet and Black at the 2021 NCAA Men’s Golf Championship (May 28-30), missing the cut for the final round of stroke play by just two shots. He became just the third regional champion in school history with his one-shot victory at UNM’s Championship Course on May 19. He finished in the top-20 in every lineup start during the 2020-21 season with six top-10s, four top-fives and a pair of wins while also tallying the lowest single-season scoring average in program history (69.97). His first victory of the season (has three career wins) came at the Augusta Haskins Award Invitational on Easter Sunday. He shot 202 (-14) with a bogey free 66 (-6) in the second round and a carded final round 64 (-8), chipping in for eagle at the last hole to force a playoff with Pepperdine All-American Dylan Menante. Hall made birdie on both playoff holes to win and earn a sponsor exemption into the PGA TOUR’s 3M Open this summer in Blaine, Minn. (July 19-25). On top of his All-America accolades, he was a Haskins Award Finalist and Nicklaus Award Finalist. Hall also was named PING All-Southeast Region and First Team All-SEC.
 
The 2021 SEC Player of the Year and SEC Champion, Roussin-Bouchard just finished one of the best seasons for a female golfer in Gamecock history. The sophomore won four tournaments during the season, including the 2021 SEC Championship, carding a SEC Championship and South Carolina program record score of 17-under (199). All four of Roussin-Bouchard’s wins this season account for the four lowest 54-hole scores in program history, and her 70.66 scoring average is the lowest single-season total in team history. She’s earned First Team All-America honors in both of her seasons with the Gamecocks.
 
Pelaez caught fire when she rejoined the team this spring after travel issues kept her away in the fall, tying for third in her season debut at the Moon Golf Invitational. The senior followed that performance by tying for sixth at the Gamecock Intercollegiate, and then tying for second at the Valspar Augusta Invitational with a career low 10-under (206). Pelaez wrapped up the regular season with a runner-up finish at the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic, and tied for tenth at the SEC Championship, securing her All-SEC First Team selection, the third All-SEC honor of her career and her third year earning All-America honors. Her 71.45 scoring average this season is the fourth lowest in team history, and she finished her career with the third lowest in program history (73.55).
