Bryant, Couisnard Withdraw From NBA Draft

COLUMBIA, S.C. – University of South Carolina junior forward Keyshawn Bryant, and R-sophomore guard Jermaine Couisnard both announced on Wednesday that they have withdrawn their name from the upcoming 2021 NBA Draft and will return to Carolina next season. 
 
Bryant averaged career highs of 14.1 points, 5.4 rebounds and 1.3 steals per game during the 2020-21 season.  The Winter Haven, Fla., native posted double-figures in 15 games, including a career high 26-point performance at LSU, and had a team high 21 dunks on the year.  In SEC play, he scored 15.8 points per game, and hit 49.2 percent from the floor.  Bryant will enter the 2021-22 season 254 points shy of the 1,000-point mark.   
 
“I have decided to withdraw my name from the NBA Draft,” Bryant said.  “I appreciate all of the support through the process, but now it’s time to get back to work.”
 
Couisnard averaged 10.1 points per game last season, and led the Gamecocks with 3.2 assists on the year.  The East Chicago, Ill., native had eight double-figure scoring games in 2020-21, and had 10 games dishing out three or more assists.  Couisnard scored a season high 23 points in a Carolina road win at Georgia, and he hit a career best six 3s in the home win over Texas A&M last January. 
 
“I’m announcing today that I have withdrawn my name from the NBA Draft,” Couisnard said in a post on Thursday afternoon.
