RIO GRANDE, Puerto Rico — South Carolina opens the season down south on Sunday morning at the Puerto Rico Classic (Feb. 13-15), hosted by Purdue. It’s the 29th year of the event, as last year was cancelled due to COVID-19.
This week’s tournament will take place at Grand Reserve Golf Club in Rio Grande.
It’s a strong field, featuring three top-10 teams led by top-ranked Oklahoma.
First Team All-American Ryan Hall headlines with the top spot in the Gamecock lineup. Junior Jack Wall, senior transfer Evans Lewis, sophomore Rafe Reynolds and freshman Nathan Franks will join Hall in the lineup this week as the team opens the spring portion of its schedule. Freshman Gene Zeigler will be playing as an individual this week.
It’s a shotgun start for the field at 7:30 a.m. (ET). South Carolina will play alongside Michigan State and College of Charleston on day one.
