No. 4 Gamecocks Set to Compete at Liz Murphey Friday

South Carolina making its 20th appearance all-time in the event

ATHENS, Ga. — No. 4 South Carolina opens play at the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic on Friday afternoon. It will be the Gamecocks final stroke play tournament of the spring.
 
It’s a loaded field with 11 teams ranked in the top-50 of the Golfstat Team Rankings, including seven inside the top-20.
 
Carolina will be paired with Louisville tomorrow and will be starting on the backside. Junior Justine Fournand will lead things off at 12:32 p.m. (ET). She’s joined in the lineup by junior Mathilde Claisse. freshman Louise Rydqvist, graduate transfer Tai Anudit and freshman Hannah Darling.
 
The Gamecocks have used the same five-player lineup all season, the order tweaked slightly at each event.
 
This will mark the 20th all-time appearance for South Carolina at the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic. The team won the event in 2019 (match play format) and 2021 on the heels of runner-up medalist honors by All-American Ana Pelaez.
