Steven Bondurant is the Academic Advisor for the South Carolina baseball, men’s soccer, and volleyball programs. In addition to his duties as primary advisor for these programs in academic manners, Bondurant also handles awards, recruiting needs, and all electronic inventory at the University of South Carolina.

Bondurant began his position in August of 2007 following a four-year professional baseball career with the Oakland Athletics. Bondurant reached as high as Triple-A with the Sacramento Rivercats before retiring due to injury. Bondurant was a member of the South Carolina Baseball team from 2000-03 including serving as captain for the ’03 squad his senior year. In four seasons with the Gamecocks, “Bondo” compiled a 14-7 career record with a pair of seven-win seasons in 2002 and 2003. Both the 2002 and 2003 teams competed in the College World Series with the ’02 squad finishing as national runner-up and earning an SEC championship. Bondurant’s seventh win of the 2002 season was in an elimination game at Omaha vs. in-state rival Clemson that eliminated the Tigers and propelled the Gamecocks into the national championship game.

Bondurant graduated in the spring of 2002 from South Carolina with degrees in marketing and also in management. In addition, Bondurant earned his Master’s in human resources in 2004.
