Maulies Pettaway joined the University of South Carolina in the summer of 2010 as an Academic Advisor with a focus on the Gamecock’s track and field and cross country teams.
Prior to USC, Maulies Pettaway Jr was at the University of Alabama at Birmingham from 2008 through 2010. He advised the Blazers’ football and synchronized swim teams.
Prior to UAB, Pettaway Jr worked in the Sports Education Leadership department at UNLV while working on his master’s degree. He earned his master’s degree in Athletic Administration from UNLV in May 2008.
Pettaway Jr spent his undergraduate career at Southern Miss obtaining his bachelor’s degree in Sport Administration in May 2005. While at Southern Miss, he was a two-year letter winner on the Track & Field team and was named to the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll.
Prior to enrolling at Southern Miss as a junior, Pettaway Jr spent two years at Central Arizona College earning his associate degree in Liberal Arts. During his time at Central Arizona, he excelled in Track & Field, including placing eighth in the hammer throw at the NJCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
Pettaway Jr is currently a member of the National Association of Academic Advisors for Athletics.
