Bobbie Piddock Named Equestrian Assistant Coach for Western

July 1, 2022

COLUMBIA, S.C. — Bobbie Piddock has been hired as assistant coach for western for the South Carolina equestrian team, head coach Boo Major announced Friday.

“I can’t wait to get the new season started with coach Piddock,” Major said. “Her enthusiasm is contagious. She will have new ideas to improve the experiences of our student athletes and get us back on the winning track.”

Piddock was most recently the assistant coach for western at UC Davis. In its 2021-22 season, she helped the Aggies to four wins. Piddock also served as a volunteer assistant with the Aggies in 2020-21.

“First, I would like to thank coach Major and coach Terebesi for this incredible opportunity to be a part of the Gamecock family,” Piddock said. “Additionally, I would like to thank my parents Bob and Carole Piddock, my mentors Jenn and Justin Wheeler, and Jessie Weisinger, as I would not be where I am today without their wisdom and support over the years. I am honored to advance my passion under Major and Terbesi’s guidance, and I cannot wait to see what we can do together. I can already tell this team has a ton of heart and is full of extraordinary talent which has me eager to get started in Columbia. Spurs Up!”

No stranger to competing, Piddock was a team captain at UC Davis in 2019-20 after transferring from UT Martin. She has been named an Eastern College Athletic Conference Horsemanship Rider of the Month and earned Academic nods from both the ECAC and the NCEA. Piddock also owns the UC Davis record in horsemanship with a score of 77.
