COLUMBIA, S.C. – The 12th ranked Gamecocks are set to open their 2022 home schedule, hosting defending national champions No. 1 Florida State inside Stone Stadium Thursday, August 18, at 7 p.m.

The Gamecocks head into the 2022 season having advanced to the NCAA quarterfinals (the program’s ninth-straight tournament appearance), ending the 2021 year 14-7-1.  Fans will see 22 familiar and returning faces, in addition to 12 newcomers joining this fall. Head coach Shelley Smith will enter into her 22nd season with South Carolina, joined by Associate Head Coach Jamie Smith, and Assistant Coach Marnie Merritt.

In conference play, South Carolina was picked to finished third in the SEC Preseason Coaches Poll, behind Tennessee (No. 11) and Arkansas (No. 8). Jyllissa Harris, Claire Griffiths, Samantha Chang, Catherine Barry, Heather Hinz, and Corinna Zullo were each named to the SEC Preseason Watch list, in addition to Harris being named to the United Soccer Coaches Player to Watch list for Defenders.

Gate & Parking Information

For fans attending Thursday’s game, student entry can be made through the Whaley Street gates. All others (media, season ticket holders, walk-ups) can enter through the Heyward Street gate. Parking is free within the Athletic Village Garage.
