Gamecocks and Tigers Set for Friday Night Showdown at Stone Stadium

COLUMBIA, S.C. – The South Carolina men’s soccer team hosts rival Clemson for its home opener Friday, September 2 at 7 p.m. Prior to the match, the Gamecocks will host a Block Party in the Athletics Village Courtyard from 5-7 p.m. The Block Party is a free event. Gamecock fans will enjoy food trucks from Pelican’s SnoBalls, Phantom Chicken, and Haute Dog Lady, as well as lawn games and inflatables. The first 200 students who attend the block party each night will receive a t-shirt courtesy of the South Carolina Education Lottery.

  • This is the 52nd meeting between the Gamecocks and Tigers.
  • The two programs have met every season since Carolina began a men’s soccer program in 1978.

  • Their last victory in the Palmetto Series came eight years ago to the day, a 2-1 double-overtime victory at Stone Stadium in 2014.
