G-Hive, Women's Basketball Season Tickets Available Now

Aug. 19, 2016

COLUMBIA — South Carolina women’s basketball head coach Dawn Staley announced today that G-Hive memberships are available now via GamecocksOnline.com, giving fans the convenience of joining while renewing or purchasing their season tickets for the 2016-17 season on the website. Introduced to the program in 2015-16, G-Hive annual membership ensures fans will have the five theme-based t-shirts that the team will wear throughout the season.

Membership in the G-Hive for 2016-17 is $75 and includes all five t-shirt designs that the team will wear on designated games throughout the season. The design of each shirt will be revealed after the team announces its theme for the season. Sizes of all t-shirts range from Youth Medium to Adult 3XL, and members can choose to pick up their shirts at a preseason women’s basketball event (to be determined at a later date) or shipped to them (additional $8 shipping fee per membership applies).

This season, membership is easier than ever as fans have the ability to add membership to their “cart” when renewing or purchasing their season tickets online. Staley and the program have set a goal of 1,000 members this season after nearly 400 joined in the G-Hive’s inaugural season.

For 2016-17, South Carolina women’s basketball season tickets have four location/price ranges, including all lower level seating now reserved. Fans can purchase Reserved seats in sections 104-106 and 113-115 for $60 each (Gamecock Club membership required for sections 104-106 and 114). Corner Reserved seats are located in sections 102-103, 107-108 and 116-117 and are available for $40 each. New Baseline Reserved seating in sections 101, 109 and 118 is available for $35. General Admission season tickets, all located in the upper level this season, are priced at $30. All new season ticket locations will be assigned based on priority points after the renewal deadline of Sept. 16.

The Gamecocks, who have led the nation in attendance each of the last two seasons, enter the 2016-17 campaign as the three-time reigning SEC regular-season champions, including last season’s perfect 16-0 league record. South Carolina is one of three teams returning multiple All-Americans this season in senior center Alaina Coates and junior forward A’ja Wilson. Junior guard Bianca Cuevas-Moore is back to lead the Gamecocks, who also welcome junior transfers Kaela Davis and Allisha Gray to the fold after sitting out last season. Both were First-Team All-ACC selections in 2015 and amassed 1,000 career points in just two seasons at their previous schools. South Carolina added five newcomers to the roster with the four freshmen ready to take the court this season, led by FIBA U18 Americas Championship gold medalist Tyasha Harris.
