COLUMBIA, S.C. – The South Carolina men’s soccer team opens conference play when the Gamecocks host Georgia Southern Saturday, September 24 at noon. Admission to the game will be free for all spectators.

The two teams have met each of the last four seasons.
The Gamecocks lead the all-time series 7-0-2. The two ties came in 1997 and 2019.
South Carolina has out-scored the Eagles 28-9.
The first meeting between the Gamecocks and Eagles came on Oct. 20, 1982, with the Gamecocks winning 4-0.
Carolina has never been shutout in the series, while the Gamecocks have earned three shutouts (1982, 1991, 2020).
Current Gamecocks Logan Frost and Brian Banahan scored in last season’s victory.

Freshman goalkeeper Ben Alexander was named to the Canadian U-20 team, where he started three matches during the 2022 Concacaf Men’s U-20 Championship.
The roster features 17 newcomers; five transfers and 12 true freshmen.
The team returns 10 players from the 2021 squad, including All-Conference performers Peter Clement, Logan Frost, and Harrison Myring.
