Maya Clarkson Named NCEA Rider of the Month

WACO, TX – Maya Clarkson has been named the National Collegiate Equestrian Association (NCEA) Rider of the Month, as announced on Wednesday. This marks the first NCEA Rider of the Month award for Clarkson in her career.

Clarkson has remained undefeated so far this year, earning an MOP honor in her first meet of the season and taking down each of her opponents including against a higher ranked Baylor. Clarkson’s efforts have been a pivotal piece in the Gamecocks’ 3-0 start this year, the first since the 2013-2014 season.

Previously, Clarskon was named the SEC Rider of the Month (Feb. 2022), a member of the All-SEC Team (2021-22), and SEC All-Freshman Team. Clarkson has also excelled in the classroom, being named to the NCEA All-Academic Team (2021-22) and SEC Academic Honor Roll (2021-22).

Clarkson and the rest of the South Carolina Equestrian team will head to College Station, Texas to take on Texas A&M on Saturday, October 8 at Noon (EST).
