Fournand Leads No. 4 Gamecocks in Round One at Landfall

Senior, who is the defending champion, matched a career-best round with a 67 (-5)

WILMINGTON, N.C. – No. 4 South Carolina is T-6^th after 18 holes of the 2022 Landfall Tradition. The Gamecocks shot 286 (-2) in round one led by senior Justine Fournand and sophomore All-American Hannah Darling.

Fournand, the defending champion, matched a career-low round with a 5-under 67 that has her T-3^rd and one shot off the pace. She led the Gamecocks with seven birdies on her scorecard today. Darling shot 70 (-2) and closed strong with an eagle at the par-5 18^th hole.

Sophomore All-American Louise Rydqvist (73, +1) and senior Mathilde Claisse (76, +4) were the final counting scores. Freshman Mia Sandtorv Lussand shot 77 (+5) and graduate transfer Katherine Muzi, who is playing as an individual this week, shot 75 (+3).

The Gamecocks will be paired with UCF and NC State for round two on Saturday. Sandtorv Lussand will lead things off at 9:15 a.m. (ET) with live scoring will be available again via Golfstat by clicking here.
