Gamecocks T-4th, Zeigler Tied for Lead at Daniel Island

CHARLESTON, S.C. – South Carolina is T-4^th at the Daniel Island Intercollegiate after shooting an opening round 304 (+16). Sophomore Gene Zeigler is tied for the lead at even par with a trio of other players.

A Florence, S.C. native, Zeigler was even on the front nine with all pars. He was also even on the back nine with a trio of birdies a bogey and a double bogey.

Freshman Zach Adams shot 76 (+4). Graduate transfer Zack Byers and sophomore Nathan Franks each shot 78 (+6) and were the final counting scores. Fifth-year senior Evans Lewis shot 80 (+8).

Florida Gulf Coast jumped out to the early lead in the team race with an opening round 295 (+7). Mississippi State sits a shot behind at 8-over.
