Changes to Colonial Life Arena Traffic Patterns
COLUMBIA, S.C. – On Wed., Dec. 7, the new Greene Street bridge over the railroad tracks near Colonial Life Arena opened for vehicles, pedestrians, and cyclists.
Through a long-standing agreement between the city and the railroad, the opening of the new bridge allows the railroad to close the crossing at Devine Street near the Palmetto Compress building. This will prevent both pedestrians and vehicles from crossing the railroad tracks at the location.
Pedestrians and vehicles who have historically crossed the tracks at Devine Street should travel one block north to cross using the new, safer bridge at Greene Street.
All vehicular traffic from Huger Street, crossing the new Greene Street bridge, must turn right onto Gadsden Street (cannot turn left or go straight).
Parking and access behind the Colonial Life Arena will be limited, including the Pearl Lab lot and entry and exit on Wayne Street from Gervais and Gadsden Street past Greene Street.
Information will be provided should additional changes be made. For information on Gamecock basketball parking, please go to gamecocksonline.com/gameday/basketball-parking.
