No. 5 Equestrian Travels to No. 7 Georgia

COLUMBIA, S.C. – The No. 5 South Carolina Equestrian team (5-2) will head to Bishop, GA to take on the No. 7 ranked Georgia Bulldogs (4-3) on Saturday, Feb. 3 at 11:00 a.m. The meet will be held at the UGA Equestrian Complex.

Last Time Out

The Gamecocks last faced Georgia (then No. 3) at home to end the fall season, coming out on top 10-9 in a tie-breaking last ride victory by Emma Lane in Reining. Madeline Schaefer received MOP honors for her season high 84 in fences on Dexter, while Chloe VanStone received the nod after tallying a 71.5 on Sparky and won her matchup by a three-point spread against Reagan Shepherd. It was the third top-10 win of the fall for South Carolina.

Scouting the Bulldogs

Saturday’s meet against Georgia will be the 54th in program history, with the Bulldogs leading the series 36-17. Georgia most recently competed in two meets to end their fall season, defeating the University of Lynchburg 9-1 in a single discipline competition, but falling to No. 10 Delaware State, 11-8. Jordan Toering and Emma Riechow collected two Most Outstanding Performer honors each on the day.  Toering won both Flat MOP honors against DSU and Lynchburg and Reichow received the honors in Fences from both meets.
