Dubem Dike Joins Gamecocks Women's Soccer

COLUMBIA, SC – South Carolina women’s soccer has added Wake Forest transfer Dubem Dike to the roster, as announced by head coach Shelley Smith on Wednesday.

“We are thrilled to welcome Dubem to our program,” Smith said. “We have watched her play for many years as a youth player, and are glad she has chosen to come home to show her talents at the next level. She has tremendous ability and we look forward to working with her as she grows as a player over the next few years!”

A Greenville, South Carolina native, Dike will head home to represent the Gamecocks for the 2023 season. Dike played for the Deacons at the forward position, making two appearances her freshman year against SEC foes Georgia and Auburn, playing 24 minutes in the 1-0 win over the Bulldogs.

Dike had an excellent high school career at Greenville Technical Charter, coming out of school rated as a four-star No. 96 overall prospect and No. 32 forward by IMG Academy/ TopDrawerSoccer.com for the 2022 class. She was also rated No. 4 in the South Atlantic Region and collected 55 goals to earn Player of the Year for her region. Dike played club soccer for CESA ECNL, and was named to the First Team All-Conference for the 2020-21 season. For her efforts, Dike was invited to play in the ENCL National Selection Game in Greer, South Carolina where she scored the opening goal.

“It has always been my dream to go to USC,” Dike said. “It is such a beautiful school with wonderful opportunities which include both an amazing academic and athletic program. There are many opportunities to strive for at USC and I am so excited to take part in them. I am overly excited for this amazing opportunity to meet my new family!”.

The daughter of Jude and Uchenna Dike, Dubem has a twin brother Onie and older brother Kosi.
