Six Gamecocks Named to SEC Preseason Watchlist

BIRMINGHAM, AL – A total of six Gamecocks have been named to the SEC Preseason Watchlist, as announced by the conference on Tuesday. Fifth years Camryn Dixon (D) and Heather Hinz (GK), seniors Cat Barry (F) and Brianna Behm, and sophomores Gracie Falla (D) and Shae O’Rourke were chosen to represent South Carolina on the list. Cam Dixon – Defender

  • Made starts in 23 of 24 games in her senior season
  • Tied her career-high 110 minutes in SEC semifinal game against Georgia, knocking in the winning penalty kick to take the team to the championship game
  • Played the full 90 minutes in nine games
  • Scored the game-winner in 2-0 win at Vermont
  • Saw action in all three NCAA tournament games

Heather Hinz – Goalkeeper

  • Started in all 24 games of 2022
  • Ranked third in the nation for minutes in goal (2135), most in the SEC and third most in a season at South Carolina
  • Ranked first in the country for 13 shutouts on the season, first in the SEC and third overall in a season
  • Finished first overall in the SEC and 23rd in the nation with her 0.632 goals-against average
  • Her 82 saves in 2022 ranks third all-time in a season and most ever by a senior keeper
  • Named SEC Tournament MVP, recording 10 saves throughout

Cat Barry – Forward

  • Led the team in goals, points, shots and shots on goal for the third straight season in 2022
  • Finished fifth in the SEC with 0.42 goals per game (126th in the country)
  • 38th in the nation for total points (27), the eighth most in a season
  • Named to SEC All-Tournament Team and All-SEC First Team
  • Fourth in the SEC with 10 season goals, 50th in the nation and ninth most in a season at South Carolina
  • Had three goals in NCAA tournament

Brianna Behm – Midfielder

  • Made appearances in 19 games with a career-high 14 starts
  • Scored second career and first game-winning goal in the SEC Championship game against No. 1 seeded Alabama, leading to the 1-0 win
  • Took five shots over the course of the season with one on goal

Gracie Falla – Defender

  • Started in 23 of 24 games as a rookie
  • Led all freshmen in total minutes (2,018), the second most on the team
  • Played all 90 minutes in 18 games (13 straight) including all three NCAA tournament games
  • Pivotal piece to the Gamecocks’ 14 shutouts on the year
  • Tallied six shots with two on goal as a defender
  • Named to SEC All-Freshman Team

Shae O’Rourke – Forward

  • Played in all 24 games, starting in four
  • Was second among freshmen in total minutes (896)
  • Tied for second most goals on the team (6), second for points (15) and shots (29) and led the team in SOG % (21-29, .724)
  • Tallied two game-winning goals, with one coming at Tennessee (Oct. 23) where she scored twice
  • Scored the first goal of the 2022 season

No. 12 South Carolina will open up the 2023 season on the road to take on No. 25 Clemson on Thursday, Aug. 17 at 7:00 p.m.
