Travis Bell/Sideline Carolina

Carolina will kickoff the season on Labor Day at the Folds of Honor Collegiate on Golf Channel

COLUMBIA, S.C. – South Carolina released its 2023-24 schedule for the upcoming men’s collegiate golf season. The Gamecocks hit the ground running next week, making the program’s debut at the Folds of Honor Collegiate (Sept. 4-6) at American Dunes Golf Club in Grand Haven, Mich.

Golf Channel will have live coverage of the tournament from 4-7 p.m. (ET) each day. There will be a college-am on Sunday, Sept. 3, followed with a welcome party in the evening that will be highlighted by an appearance from golf legend and course designer, Jack Nicklaus. Each team will carry an honor bag tag, representing the Folds of Honor recipients at each of their schools. Folds will award over 9,000 scholarships this fall and has awarded over 1,500 scholarships at the schools playing in this year’s event.

Carolina will be off for several weeks before returning to action at the SEC Fall Preview (Sept. 25-27). The all-SEC event will feature the league’s 14 schools with 54-holes of stroke play and then match play to determine a champion. The Gamecocks will then compete in the Blessings Collegiate Invitational (Oct. 2-4) alongside the women’s team. The annual event will be held at Blessings Golf Club in Fayetteville, Ark., which hosted the 2019 NCAA Championship. Golf Channel will provide TV coverage all three days of competition.

The fall portion of the schedule will conclude in the lowcountry at the Daniel Island Intercollegiate (Oct. 9-10).

The spring begins at the Puerto Rico Classic in mid-February for the third consecutive season. Carolina will then play in three more events before postseason play begins: the Schenkel Invitational (March 15-17), Hootie at Bulls Bay Intercollegiate (March 24-26) and the Tiger Intercollegiate (April 8-9).

Sea Island Golf Club’s Seaside Course will host the SEC Championship for the 23rd year April 24-28. It’ll mark the seventh straight conference tournament to be decided in match play format. Teams will play 54-holes with a cut to the top-eight for the match play quarterfinals. An individual SEC Champion will be crowned at the conclusion of stroke play.

NCAA Regionals will take place May 13-15 with the NCAA Championship to follow May 24-29 for the teams that qualify. It’ll be the first of three NCAA Championships contested at Omni La Costa’s Champions Course outside of San Diego. Texas, who will join the SEC next fall, will serve as the host school.
