No. 6 Equestrian Falls to No. 7 Georgia on the Road

BISHOP, GA – The No. 6 South Carolina Equestrian team (4-1) fell for the first time this season to the No. 7 Georgia Bulldogs (2-1), 15-4 on Friday.

The Gamecocks picked up points on the Flat, in Fences and Reining. Mary Hunter Millet scored the lone point on the Flat for her team, scoring a season-high of 85 on Granite to defeat Sophia Pilla. Senior Chloe Stephenson started the points off in Reining, coming out on top with a 71-70.5 win on Banjo over Raegan Shepherd. Senior co-captain Emilia Reutimann rounded out points for the first half, taking hers 68-67.5 against Jax Bound on Apollo.

Co-captain Madeline Schaefer picked up her point for South Carolina in Fences, tallying a season-high 88 on Campo to take down Melissa Deryn Foster’s 86. The Bulldogs swept Horsemanship 3-0, but Ruby Voortmeyer saw a career-high of 75 in her tying ride with Grace Himes on Teddy.
