LAST TIME OUT

The Gamecocks come off their fifth draw of the season after a 0-0 finish against Ole Miss at home on Friday, Oct. 13. A tough, physical, defensive-themed game ensued for the full 90 minutes as neither side was able to scratch across a goal. Fifth-year standout goalkeeper Heather Hinz made five saves on the night and recorded the 28th shutout of her career. She remains fourth all-time in career shutouts needing just one more to tie former Gamecock keeper Sabrina D’Angelo (’11-14) for third all-time. Offensively the Gamecocks generated three shots on goal in the first 45 minutes and forced consistent pressure in the second half on the back line, but were unable to find the back of the net. Carolina finished with a 6-5 advantage in shots on goal and a 5-2 advantage in corner kicks.

SCOUTING THE AGGIES

Thursday’s matchup will be the 13th meeting all time between the Gamecocks and Aggies. Texas A&M holds a 6-4-2 advantage in the series. Both schools have been ranked inside the top 25 for six of the 12 matches.

The Aggies come off a 0-0 draw against Auburn this past Friday, Oct. 13 at Auburn. A&M owned the edge in shots (13-10), shots on goal (7-6) and corner kicks (4-2). Fifth-year goalkeeper Kenna Caldwell made six saves on the night and a young but talented A&M backline produced the Aggies’ seventh shutout of the season. Senior forward Jazmine Wilkinson leads Texas A&M with six goals and 15 points on the season. Grad forward Sammy Smith and junior forward Carissa Boeckmann lead A&M with six assists each.
