Carolina one shot behind Middle Tennessee State heading into Tuesday's final round at the Ralston Course

CHARLESTON, S.C. – South Carolina is in solo second at the conclusion of the second round of the Daniel Island Intercollegiate. The Gamecocks fired another red number with a 4-under 284. The team sits one shot behind 36-hole Middle Tennessee State.

Redshirt sophomore transfer Frankie Harris led the way with a 3-under 69 today at Daniel Island Club. He made just one bogey all day and finished strong with back-to-back birdies at holes 17 and 18. Senior Rafe Reynolds was steady again with a 2-under 70 thanks to four birdies. He and Harris are T-4^th at 5-under overall for the tournament, two shots off the pace. Middle Tennessee State’s Kevin Jegers leads at 7-under.

Junior Nathan Franks shot 72 (E) today as he sits just inside the top-20 at 1-under through 36 holes. He carded a trio of birdies. Sophomore Zach Adams was the final counting score with a 73 (+1). Junior transfer Laurens Schulze-Doering shot 77 (+5). Freshman Bo Carpenter, who is playing as an individual this week, shot 73 (+1).

Today’s round was delayed 2 hours due to heavy fog in the Lowcountry.

Carolina will be paired with the Blue Raiders and VCU for the final 18 holes on Tuesday. The Gamecocks are seeking the team’s first win of the season and the 29^th of head coach Bill McDonald’s career.
