Dekel Daks Named to All-Region Third Team

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – South Carolina men’s soccer midfielder Ethan Dekel Daks was named to the United Soccer Coaches All-Southeast Region, as announced by the association Tuesday (Dec. 5).

Dekel Daks was named to the third team, becoming the first Gamecock to earn All-Region honors since Luca Mayr in 2017. Overall, he is the 52nd student-athlete to earn the honor in program history.

A sophomore, Dekel Daks was named to the Sun Belt All-Conference First Team after tying for seventh in conference play with three goals, two of which were game winners. His two game winners were tied for second in league play. He tied for the team lead in goals and assists in Sun Belt play. He was named the Sun Belt Offensive Player of the Week for his game-winning goal against Old Dominion that came with five seconds left in the match. On the year, he played in 17 matches, starting in 16 of them. He was second on the team with four goals and tallied two assists.
