COLUMBIA, S.C. –South Carolina (7-0) travels to The Upstate to face No. 24/20 Clemson (7-0) in a battle of unbeatens Wednesday night at Littlejohn Coliseum. It’s the first time ever in the 173-game rivalry series that both teams are 7-0.

The Palmetto Series presented by the South Carolina Education Lottery is currently tied, 3-3, this season. Started in 2015, the Gamecocks lead the overall Palmetto Series 5-0.

Roy Philpott (pxp) and Dan Bonner (analyst) will be on the call for the 8 p.m. (ET) ACC Network broadcast.

The Gamecocks are off to the team’s best start since beginning the season 8-0 in 2016-17. It’s the eighth 7-0 start all-time for the program.

Carolina and Clemson are two of 14 remaining unbeaten teams in Division I. The Gamecocks are one of just four schools in the country to have undefeated men’s and women’s basketball teams

Last season, Chico Carter Jr. scored a game-high 16 points and hit the game-winning shot with 0.9 seconds remaining as Carolina prevailed, 60-58. Head coach Lamont Paris became the first coach since Dave Odom in 2001 to beat Clemson in his first season at the helm. The Gamecocks defeated Tigers, 81-59, on the road on Dec. 8, 2001 under Odom.
