South Carolina looking to extend home win streak to 11 games ; free 1/4 tee shirts for the first 1,000 students

­­­­COLUMBIA, S.C. – South Carolina (14-2, 2-1 SEC) returns home for a Tuesday night battle with Georgia (12-4, 2-1 SEC) at 9 p.m. (ET) on ESPNU. Arena doors will open 1 hour prior. The first 1,000 students in the door at CLA will receive quarter-zip themed white t-shirts to wear in The Cockpit.

Roy Philpott (pxp) and Daymeon Fishback (analyst) will be on the call for the late-night tip.

The Gamecocks are seeking to extend a 10-game home winning streak that dates back to a Senior Day win over the Bulldogs last season. It’s the team’s longest home win streak since the 2015-16 squad started the year 13-0 at home.

Carolina picked up its second true road win of the season last Saturday at Missouri (Jan. 13) with a 71-69 overtime victory. It was the team’s first win at Mizzou Arena since January of 2017. Junior Jacobi Wright in the game-winning bucket in overtime with 13 seconds remaining. Grad transfer B.J. Mack had a team-high 21 points, his fourth 20-point performance of the season.

Georgia is fresh off a tough, hard-fought game against No. 5 Tennessee. The Vols won 85-79 after closing the game on a 21-4 run the final 5 minutes. The Bulldogs led by as many as 11 in the second half. Jabri Abdur-Rahim led the way for Georgia in the game with 21 points thanks to five 3s. He’s one of the top shooters in the SEC and is T-4th in the league with a 42.9 percent shooting clip from distance in three league games. Abdur-Rahim’s 38 3-point field goals this season are fifth-most in the conference.

The Bulldogs entered their Saturday game against Tennessee riding a 10-game winning streak, the longest win streak in the country by a Power Six conference team at the time. They are led by former Florida head coach Mike White, who is in his second season leading the program.
