Rydqvist Named SEC Golfer of the Week

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Junior All-American Louise Rydqvist was named SEC Golfer of the Week on Wednesday the league office announced. She helped lead the team to its second straight win at the San Diego State Classic on Tuesday with a fourth-place finish individually.

Rydqvist shot 214 (-2) with rounds of 71-69-74 en route to another top-five finish in difficult scoring conditions. The three-year starter was one of just five players in the 63-women field to break par on the week at The Farms Golf Club in Rancho Santa Fe, Calif.

The Jönköping, Sweden, native has gotten off to a great start this season with five top-20 finishes in five stroke play starts. She’s cracked the top-five on three occasions. Rydqvist also went 3-0 in matches to help the team to victory at the Therese Hession Regional Team Challenge last week on the West Coast.

Rydqvist and fellow junior All-American Hannah Darling will both play in the upcoming Augusta National Women’s Amateur (April 4-6). Rydqvist will be making her debut and Darling will making her third appearance.
