Men’s Tennis Hosts Midweek Doubleheader

Columbia, S.C. – No. 21 South Carolina men’s tennis will host SC State and North Carolina A&T on Wednesday for a doubleheader. The Gamecocks and Bulldogs will meet at 11:00 a.m. with the Gamecocks and Aggies facing at 3:00 p.m.

Both matches will take place at the Carolina Tennis Center with gates opening one hour prior to first serve. Fan parking will be available in the dirt lot behind the women’s side courts. Fans will need to take the stairs through the parking garage in order to reach the upper-level spectator seating.

As a reminder to fans, pets are not permitted at the Carolina Tennis Center.

Gamecock Notables

South Carolina is ranked No. 21 in the ITA team rankings and has spent the entirety of the 2024 season in the top-25.
In the ITA Singles Rankings senior Toby Samuel sits at a new season-high of No. 15. The Bournemouth, England, native is currently on an 11-match win streak and has a 14-4 overall record.
Also in the singles rankings is junior Casey Hoole who is 19-19 this season. He has missed the last four matches due to injury.
Lucas Andrade da Silva has also had an impressive run recently, winning seven of his last eight matches.
In the doubles rankings, Samuel and Hoole come in at No. 13 in the nation. The duo is 9-4 this season but have not played together recently due to Hoole’s injury.

Scouting South Carolina State

South Carolina State is 10-5 overall this season and a perfect 4-0 in conference play. They are 3-5 when playing on the road and 5-0 at neutral site matches.
The Bulldogs enter Wednesday’s competition on a six-match win streak.
South Carolina State are the reigning three-time Mid-Eastern Atlantic Conference champions.

Scouting North Carolina A&T

North Carolina A&T is 12-3 overall this season and 1-3 when playing on the road.
Of their 12 wins this season, nine of them have been sweeps.
