Gamecocks’ SEC Home-Away Opponents Announced

COLUMBIA, S.C. – South Carolina women’s basketball learned today at which location it will play each of its 16 SEC games in the 2024-25 season, which includes the addition of new SEC members Oklahoma and Texas. In the 16th season of a 16-game league schedule, each team will play 14 of their league rivals once – home or away – and face one rotating opponent at home and away. The 16-game slate features eight home and eight away games with the rotating opponent changing annually.

South Carolina drew Texas as its home-and-home opponent for 2024-25, making the Longhorns one of five NCAA Tournament teams who will visit Colonial Life Arena during SEC action next season. Oklahoma will also get a look at Colonial Life Arena in its inaugural SEC season. Auburn, LSU and Texas A&M are the other three NCAA Tournament squads coming to Columbia, along with Arkansas, Florida and Kentucky.

The Gamecocks’ third trip to Texas will be their first as an SEC rival. Four other NCAA Tournament teams will host South Carolina – Alabama, Ole Miss, Tennessee and Vanderbilt. The Gamecocks will also travel to Georgia, Mississippi State and Missouri in the 2024-25 campaign.

South Carolina has won eight SEC regular-season titles over the last 11, including the last three, and has not been outside the top two in that stretch.  Head coach Dawn Staley is 199-55 in SEC play, including back-to-back undefeated seasons, with her .783 league winning percentage second only to Tennessee’s Pat Summitt (.874) in league history. Her 199 conference wins are the most among active league coaches and third all-time, trailing just Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame inductees Andy Landers (Georgia, 273) and Summitt (Tennessee, 306).

Dates, times and television information will be announced at a later date.
