Head Coach Carol Gwin Releases 2024-25 Equestrian Schedule

COLUMBIA, SC – South Carolina head coach Carol Gwin has announced the 2024-25 Equestrian schedule, kicking off the regular season on the road in Delaware. The full schedule can be found here.

The Gamecocks come off a 2023-24 season of firsts and highlights, finishing with a winning regular season record (7-6) since 2019. The victories included three wins against top-10 ranked teams, most notably defeating the No. 4 Auburn Tigers for the first time in a decade, coming out on top 11-9 in a tiebreaking final ride.

Three Gamecocks were named NCEA Ariat All-Americans, including Mary Hunter Millet (First Team, Flat), Sophie Mitchell (Second Team, Flat), and Emilia Reutimann (Reining, Honorable Mention). Mitchell was named the SEC Flat Rider of the Year in addition to an All-SEC nod, alongside Bella Primavera (All-SEC, Fences), Chloe Stephenson (All-SEC, Reining), and Reutimann (All-SEC, Reining). Reutimann was also named to the SEC Community Service Team.

Four newcomers were named to the SEC All-Freshman team, with Sarah and Grace Rabb receiving the honor on the Flat, along with Jenna Berghorst and Jordyn Humbert being selected for their performances in Horsemanship. 24 Gamecocks were named NCEA All-Academic honorees, with seven being a part of the First Team list.

The 2024-25 schedule features seven non-conference opponents, and home/away series with all three fellow SEC schools (Auburn, Georgia, Texas A&M).

The Gamecocks will open up on the road in Delaware, taking on Delaware State (Sept. 27), and Minnesota Crookston (Sept. 28). The meeting with Minnesota Crookston will be just the second in program history, with the Gamecocks holding a 1-0 advantage over the Golden Eagles after defeating them 13-2 in 2006.

South Carolina will return home to open up SEC competition against Auburn on Friday, October 11. The Gamecocks will round out conference matchups at Texas A&M (Oct. 25), and at home against Georgia (Nov. 1). The 2024-25 fall portion will finish with a Jumping Seat only match against Sweet Briar (Nov. 15) for just the third time in program history, where South Carolina will look to continue their undefeated streak against the Vixens.

In the spring, South Carolina Equestrian will open up things at home with a Jumping Seat only meet against the defending single discipline National Champions of Lynchburg (Jan. 31). The Gamecocks will continue their homestand against the Aggies of Texas A&M (Feb. 8), before hitting the road for four meets.

South Carolina will face Auburn (Feb. 15) and Georgia (Feb. 22) on their home turf, then head to California to take on UC Davis (Feb. 28) and Fresno State (March 1). The Gamecocks will round out the regular season at home at One Wood Farm, facing UT Martin on Saturday, March 8.

The 2025 SEC Championship will be held March 28-29, followed by the NCEA Championship April 16-19 at the World Equestrian Center in Ocala, FL.
