MESSILÄ, Finland – Rising senior All-American Louise Rydqvist won the 2024 European Ladies’ Amateur Championship on Saturday at Messilä Golf Club. She shot 14-under over the last four days to win by three shots over Spain’s Andrea Revuelta.
After opening with a 73 (+1) in round one, Rydqvist went low with score of 66, 67 and 68 over the final three rounds of play. She was one of just two players in the field to get to double-digits under par over 72 holes. Rydqvist closed strong today with birdies on two of her final three holes. She made just four bogeys the entire tournament.
The victory gives Rydqvist an exemption into the upcoming AIG Women’s Open at the Old Course in St. Andrews, Scotland. The tournament, which is one of the five majors in ladies professional golf, will take place Aug. 22-25.
The rising sophomore French duo of Maylis Lamoure and Vairana Heck also competed this week in Finland, each notching top-30 finishes. Lamoure shot 289 (+1) to T-20th and Heck shot 290 (+2) to T-26th.
